How does an ex-Disney animator, a part-time programmer, a local musician, and a mother of two get their game Greenlit, marketed and published across multiple platforms?
Queen Bee Games is an independent game developer that’s steeped in the legendary animation tradition of developing memorable, satiable characters. ++Good Games was approached by the founders of Queen Bee Games after their original publisher had left them high and dry in the alpha phase of their project. The marching orders were to keep Queen Bee working on getting their game to gold while our team focused on the marketing machinations and preparing distribution partners.
Through a mix of traditional PR, YouTube partnerships, and social media campaigns, we worked to get Onion Force through Steam’s Greenlight process. With the burden of publishing and promotion off their plate, the founders of Queen Bee Games went to the task of adding new features and functionality to their game. Drawing inspirations from classics such as Dragon Warrior, Crystalis, and Final Fantasy as well as Diablo, Dynasty Warriors and Angry Birds, Onion Force went from tower-defense puzzler to a truly polished and memorable experience that will keep players thinking long after the controller (and keyboard + mouse) have left their hands.
