IndiEx Games Partners With Playism To Release Indie Action-Brawler, Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae, In China’s Rapidly Growing Video Game Market
Up and coming indie games publisher to bring highly regarded action game to China
Chandler, Arizona – March 18, 2015
IndiEx Games — an Arizona-based video game publishing and localization company specializing in curating and localizing the industry’s best indie games for promotion and distribution in China — today announced a strategic partnership with Japanese indie game publishing brand, Playism (Active Gaming Media Inc.), to release the critically-acclaimed action game, Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae, in China.
As home to one of the world’s biggest game-playing markets, China is rapidly emerging as a significant destination point for the best of Western and Japanese games. IndiEx Games, founded by longtime video game industry veterans, Bill Cox and John Inada, are well-poised to maximize this market’s potential, thanks to their extensive experience in game marketing, localization, and distribution.
Partnering with Osaka-based Playism to bring developer Zenith Blue’s Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae to this emerging market is but the first step in IndiEx Game’s long-term publishing strategy. “The consumer’s hunger for new and exciting games in China is significant, and our goal is to satisfy that need by supplying a steady stream of the best indie games from North America, Europe, and Japan,” says IndiEx Games founder Bill Cox. “Bringing a quality game like Playism’s Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae to the Chinese market is going to help us establish a strong presence there.”
“We’re thrilled that Chinese gamers will finally be able to get their hands on one of Japan’s premier indie titles,” says Playism Marketing Director, Nayan Ramachandran. “As the Chinese market begins to discover and appreciate the work of Western and Japanese game developers, the market will surely mature and grow,” offered IndiEx Games co-founder John Inada. “Until now, China was a huge, but mysterious, proposition for most developers. IndiEx aims to lower the barrier to entry for interested developers and publishers. As long as a game is fun, there’s a big market dying to play it, and we can do the heavy lifting to get these games in front of millions of new players.”
Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae will be released in the spring of 2015. For more information, please visit the IndiEx website: http://indiexgames.com/
